FATE OF THE FURIOUS ft SAVAGE's "PUSH"
"The Fate of the Furious" which is the 8th installment in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise dropped during the Super Bowl on CBS.
With millions of viewers tuned in to one of America's premium sporting events, 30 second ad spots during the Super Bowl can cost up to US $5 million to be featured.
So when the new Fate of the Furious trailer was released in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl today, millions of people also got to hear our very own Savage's latest track 'PUSH' featuring DJ Kronic & Far East Movement.
We caught up with Savage to see how he was feeling about it all ...
'Usually when they want to use your song the artist has to clear it so when I got this opportunity (for the track) to be on the movie as well as the trailer and the ad, I was all for it. I knew that it was lining up for it but they wouldn't confirm or guarantee that it'd be on so thats the whole reason I didn't announce it. I just waited until I saw it.
We were watching the NFL but I was on a call with the Head of 'Ministry of Sound' about the ad and I was like 'I think they're just playing NZ & Australia ads not the actual US Superbowl ads - are they going to play it?' and he was like 'I'm not too sure' .
I'd seen the Rock post on Instagram that it was going to play in the 2nd quarter and when the 2nd quarter finished I was like ok they're probably not going to play it but then I got the call and was actually sent a link by the Stafford brothers (2 big massive DJs from Australia) and they were over at P-Diddys house watching it and they took a video watching it on this big screen at P-Diddys house (laughs) and they were real happy and excited. So when I saw THAT video I was like 'Thats crazy! Thats Dope!'
It was Super secret and of course when you're dealing with a franchise like 'Fast & Furious' they're very careful and protective of any information. It made the trailer which is awesome and the whole song played through the trailer and that was the winner for me - to see that. When 'Swing' featured on the movie "Knocked Up" it took off and thats what we're hoping with this, that it'll move this track as well.

"Freaks" also just landed on 'Training Day' which is a new TV series. I knew about that one as well but I'm not the type of artist that goes out and boasts & brags about it. I look at it as being the 'silent achiever' - you can't count me out *sings* 'You can't get rid of me maaan' (laughs)
So at the moment I'm trying to stay off line cos I did a quick post and everything went crazy so I'm just over here chilling with my kids and my wife and just taking it all in because you know, It's another accomplishment that I'm going to give it all to God!
Amazing accomplishment and massive congratulations to Savage on his achievements in the US and we hope that the tracks become as big as the 'Fate of the Furious' movie itself!
