The Forgotten Pacific : 1.5 To Stay Alive - Marshall Islands Win At COP21
The Marshall Islands, is a chain of over 1,000 small islands and atolls in the central Pacific Ocean, a paradise known for its turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs, and rich cultural heritage. With a population spread across 29 coral atolls, the islands are deeply connected to the ocean, which provides food, transport, and identity for its people.
However, the Marshall Islands is on the frontlines of the climate crisis, as rising sea levels threaten to submerge its low-lying lands. Despite these challenges, the island nation remains resilient, with its people advocating for global action on climate change while continuing to honour their traditions and strengthen their communities.
