Island Family-Friendly Vegan Meal | Eco Tips
Here's another episode of Our Moana | Eco Tips! A series hosted by Brianna Fruean and Jane Vavaitamana on simple ways to live a more environmentally conscious life.
On this episode, Jane shows us an easy-to-make recipe of plant-based spaghetti bolognese and how plant based diets can be good for the environment! More than just a spaghetti recipe this episode is about changing habits around disposable lifestyles.
A plant-based diet is environmentally better due to its lower greenhouse gas emissions, reduced land and water use, decreased pollution, and support for biodiversity preservation. Meat production, particularly from intensive farming, contributes significantly to climate change through methane and nitrous oxide emissions, necessitates extensive land use often linked to deforestation, and consumes substantial water resources.
Plant-based diets require less energy for production and transportation, further reducing their ecological footprint. Choosing plant-based options can help individuals mitigate their carbon footprint and promote a more sustainable environment on an individual level.
