Pacific Businesses to support in Lockdown
Amidst the current level4 lockdown in New Zealand, Pacific businesses are still hustling to survive. Small businesses have felt the brunt of the Pandemic and they are even more disadvantaged during lockdown. Although this hasn't deterred Pacific businesses owners who continue to stay resilient.
Here are ways you can use that coffee money you've been saving to support small Pasifika businesses.
1. Order from the businesses that are open.
A handful of Pacific businesses can operate during Alert Level 4 and are ready to meet your lockdown needs.
Currently, Sweet & Me are operating safely under alert level 4 and offering delivery services to those who want to order an island styled treat during lockdown. They have currently sold out of this week's orders but they will be back again next week!
If you’re on a diet and looking for some treats, Ikuna Taste is the place for you! They are opened for delivery orders and offer a range of plant based & keto treats.
DOE Donuts are also currently open for online orders and fresh deliveries of their delicious island styled donuts. Happy customers have been posting their DOE treat boxes and expressing the delivery as a highlight of their lockdown.
2. Shop online from Pacific stores
The malls may be closed but online shopping is still open to keep you busy in lockdown. Various Pacific shops are taking online orders and using the lockdown to prepare your orders that they will then be able to send/deliver out safely in level 3.
You can shop online now from businesses like Moana Fresh, Under The Bird, Layplan and Little Mamas & Papas.
(click on the business name to be redirected to their online site)
3. Make a plan/s to visit Pacific small businesses
When alert levels lower and it is safer to be back in the community that is the best time to support Pacific businesses that had to close during lockdown. Weeks with no revenue can set small businesses back but if the community can rally to support our Pasifika entrepreneurs we know they'll be grateful. Enter in your physical and online diaries appointments to check out Pacific businesses.
Make plans to grab a palusami pie at Blue Rose, get your lashes done at Lavikas, grab some treats from DOE donuts and visit other small Pacific businesses once it's safe to do so.
