Star of "Cousins" Hariata Moriarty | Young, Gifted & Brown
We sit down with the talented Hariata Moriarty...
You may recognize her from the big screen. A leading actor in the moving film Cousins that highlighted the cruel treatment inflicted on wāhine Māori in the 1940s and 1950s. Hariata plays the young-adult version of the character Missy in the film and says it was a great experience working on Cousins. And although some of the subject matter was challenging, it gave her a sense of empowerment as a young Māori woman.
"Young, Gifted & Brown" follows talented and passionate Nesians from different walks of life on a mission to leave their mark on the world. The series will profile different gifted young brown people from Directors to family lifeguards.
