Sau e Siva presents Lalelei: Siva Salu
Lalelei means beautiful in Samoan and is the title of the acclaimed show by Sau e Siva telling the story of the turtle and the shark, a Samoan legend from the village of Vaitogi in Tutuila, Samoa.
This show exploded on the stage and had an extended season at the Mangere Arts Centre, Ngā Tohu o Uenuku, bringing together 40 performers from a variety of backgrounds and was choreographed by the talented Sau e Siva Creatives: Leki Bourke, Italia Hunt, Epine Savea, Jill Karapani and Idalene Ati with Creative Director Troy Tu'ua.
In this scene the young servant has found Fonuea after she has been beaten by the dejected Faiga, Chief of the island. Their meeting produces immediate sparks and the servant and his friends court her with this rare dance.
