Heiva i Tahiti 2015

In Tahitian, the word Heiva (hei meaning to assemble, and va meaning community places) refers to activities, pastimes, physical exercise, and festivals. 

The first Heiva i Tahiti was in 1881 (named Tiurai) and has since grown into a symbol of the Tahitian culture, where celebrations are held for the month of July - including traditonal sports and games, as well as traditional dance.
