ATMA - Disciple Pati

Pacific Music Award winning artist Disciple Pati released her sophomore single  ‘ATMA’ last week and has just dropped the accompanying music video.

Her debut single ‘The Boy Who Cried Woman’ saw Pati dive into the world of R&B but ‘ATMA’ shows another side as Pati opts for some experimental pop production (courtesy of Leaping Tiger) while inflicting a catchy, powerful chorus.

In her own words ... 

"This track right here is very close to my heart man. It was the first time I ever learnt how to parent myself/ my inner child, and coach myself thru a really toxic relationship.

I spent a good portion of my life feeling unsure of myself n most definitely not trusting myself, n when I got into a relationship, it felt like I low key put in a position where I was told that they knew best, they knew more than I did, n I defo hit a deep low ...

This song was born out of a need for me to get out of dis toxic ass situation, but not having the strength at the moment to do so. I sat down after writing a whole lot of shit in my journal, and spoke to myself like I was a friend, or a mentor. And then this track came out!!!!!

Even tho it was born out of a very specific situation, it always feels relevant bc ppl ALL AROUND U will always try to make u doubt urself, ur work, who u are, who u wanna be. This song was not only a polite fuck u to those ppl but also a gentle reminder of who I am/ who u are.
